DONATE & DOWNLOAD - Nepal earthquake relief fundraiser.
Many of my songs have been inspired by the ancient land of Nepal. It is a magical place filled with inner and outer beauty, and a people who live so close to spirit.
During my first trip there, I wrote a song called "Kathmandu" and recorded it on my laptop. It was a fun song which I shared with only close friends and family. I was never planning on releasing it publicly.
However, when we heard about the earthquake in Nepal this past year, and of all the devastation it had caused in the city and surrounding villages, we were heart broken. We knew we needed to do something. Releasing the song, and offering people a way to help, seemed like the most natural thing. This song carries all those sweet memories of my first journey there ... eating a bunch of rice and dhal, riding through the Kathmandu alleyways, watching the sunrise over the Himalayas, the smiles and hearts of the Nepali people ... all those things are so fresh in my mind. I hope this song brings you the same joy that it brings to me.
Every download donation will go to our friends at Himalayan Quests, in partnership with the 501(c)(3) the GVN Foundation, in Kathmandu, Nepal . These amazing folks are working to rebuild schools, construct health posts, and deliver critical aid to rural villages that were devastated in the recent earthquake in Nepal, which killed over 10,000 people. With the recent border blockades in Nepal, which have crippled the country, supplies and aid are even more desperately needed. With your generous support, Himalayan Quests will be able to continue and expand their work in remote areas, giving the gifts of shelter, education, health care and more.
